Jeff Petkac – Berea-Midpark Baseball, earlier this season Jeff threw17 strikeouts in a single game. This is now the record for the most strikeouts thrown in single game by a Berea-Midpark pitcher. 

Christian Orr – Clay HS Christian set a plethora of records for the Eagles the records had been held for about 16 years. He is the only player to start all 4 years at the school. His first record is All-Time Hits with 121, this record was previously held by his current coach Jim Phillips (99-01) with 111 hits. Orr also now holds the records for most at bats with 327 and most singles with 95. Click here to see an article and interview with the Senior captain.

Ryan Murray – Colerain Ryan set a record for most career stolen bases this year with 45, 15 of those coming this season. That record was set 37 years ago by his uncle and 1980 Colerain grad Chris Murray. Click here for the article on cincinnati.org

Zach Arno – Ross HS Zach broke the school record for the most triples in a season with 5 triples this year. Zach broke/shared three records in one week. He is tied for the most homeruns in one game. He is the only one who has hit four homeruns in a row at Ross. He then turned around and broke the record for most triples in a season a Ross High School.

Thomas House – Ross HS With 176 career strikeouts, Ross senior Thomas House is now the school’s career strikeout leader, breaking Tyler Minges’ previous record of 164. Click here for an article on cincinnati.org

David Walcott – Lakota West David broke the long standing discus record of 136′ with an impressive 142’10”

Andrew White – Glen Oak Andrew broke a 30 year long standing school record as well as 12 year District Meet Record for discus witha throw of 185′ 6″. He broke 3 records with the first throw of the first flight (stadium record, district record, and the school record for the second time this season).

Carter Liebig – Olentangy Shanahan MS Carter broke a middle school record for the 100m dash with a time of 11.01. That record had been unbroken since the 1980’s.

Ethan Best – Perrysburg After a season-ending (helmet cracking) concussion Freshman year, Ethan came back to stop 285, 232, and 208+ goals for varsity D1 HS team. Broke 700 saves – Fist time in school history. And two back-to-back winning seasons (first in program history). Highest stop rate for program, most stops in a single game, and most career SOG. Jake Rosko – Holy Name HS Jake set the record for most goals in a single lacrosse game with 9 goals in one game this year.

Nick Brandt – Olentangy Orange Nick Brandt had quite the record breaking season he scored 75 goals (Season Record); 9 goals in one game (Single Game Record); 11 points in one game (Single Game Record). Nick also led Ohio in Goals (75); broke multiple school records held by 2014 All-American Alex Menzo.

Da’One Jordan – Medina Da’One broke a record in the long jump for Medina. Broke 42 year old (1975) school record at 1st meet of the season and then extended that record at an Invitational on May 5th with a 22′ 4 3/4″ jump. 

Michael Sedlak – Westlake Michael broke the high school pole vault record with a height of 14’9″ breaking the previous record of 14’6-1/2″ , which was set in 1972.

Tyler Hines – Northwest HS Tyler threw a perfect game vs. Mt Healthy on 4/24/17.

Zoe Coleman – Talwanda Zoe broke the single season triples record with 9 this year. This was the oldest record on Talwanda’s softball program hadn’t been broken since 1999.

Emily Scarnecchia – Girard Emily had a season high 7 home runs this year which is a record for Girard HS Softball.


Jenna Monk – Cincinnati Christian Jenna hit 10 home runs this season which broke her record from last year when she beat it as a freshman.

Bailey Byers – West Branch Bailey set the single season record for all of Ohio by hitting 20 home runs this season.

Aspen Backus – Marion Harding Aspen had the 11 home runs this season beating the previous record of 7 home runs in a season.

Amber Cieplinski – Waterloo Multiple school records broken: Single season home runs with 14 (previous record 8), already beat career home runs, currently with 21 (17 old record), Broke school for single season RBIs with 50 (record was 38 that she set last year as a freshman), Homeruns in a single game with 3 (2 old record), twice tied RBIs in a single game with 8.

Ronain Heath – Saint Joseph Academy Ronain broke the single season stolen bases record with 41 stolen bases this season.

Brock Shellhaas – Ansonia Local School As a Freshman, Brock set the pole vault record with a jump of 15′. The record was previously 14’3″ held by his father Steve Shellhaas in 1992.

Kyra Koontz – Talawanda As a Freshman, Kyra set three records on the track: 100 Dash-12.32 sec. 100 Hurdles-15.00 sec. Triple Jump-32’1″

Jessica Knickerbocker – Boardman Jessica broke a record in 100m High Hurdles with a time of 15.8 seconds. Check out this article

Sedona Goodard – Orrville With her 58.23 clocking in the 400 broke the oldest school record at Orrville High School. The record was originally set in 1978 by Mary Naumoff at 58.9.

Halie Sciury – Sandy Valley Halie set a meet and school record all with a long jump of 17’8″ to qualify for state.

Daiton Sharp – Vandalia Butler Daiton broke an 11 year old record with a 22′ 6 1/2″ jump.

Michael McDermott – Ritman With a 14′ jump Mikey McDermott only being a sophomore broke the HS pole vault school record which was 13’4” from 1979.

Alexis Dingess – West Jefferson Alexis set a shot put record with a 35’4″ throw this record was last in 1977.

Caden Sauerbrey – Tri Valley With a 4:06.07 time in the 1600m Caden smashed a 45 year old record of 4:29.50 for the school.

Brayden Chaney – West Holmes Brayden ran a 49.36 in the 400m dash breaking the school record by 1.1 seconds and the conference by .3 of a second. Watch it here

Taylor Stills – Westerville Central Taylor made a new school record in long jump with an impressive 17″7′ jump.
