GIRLS BASKETBALL

Westerville South made 10 3’s in the first 12 minutes of the game, led by Gabby Hutcherson who was 5-5. But the Rocks would stay composed, down 15.

In another all around display of teamwork and grit, Dublin Coffman (17-1) would erase that deficit on their way to a huge road win Tuesday evening at Westerville South (11-5), 72-68.

Westerville South took a 42-27 lead with 3:44 left in the second quarter. Coffman closed with the last 6. The Rocks found their groove in the second half, cutting the lead to two with :35 left in the third quarter. Anyssa Jones layed the ball in at the end of the third quarter buzzer to give the Wildcats a 4 point lead. It was all Coffman after that. Russell scored to tie the game at 58, and the Shamrocks would not trail again.

Jacy Sheldon scored the final 9 points of the contest, including a huge 3 with 2:00 remaining.

Imarianah Russell had 6 3 point field goals and finished with 28. Jacy Sheldon has 4 three point field goals and 25, to go with 10 assists.  Seniors Kaitlyn Kopyar and Riley Wagoner made several impactful plays in the Rocks huge win.  Juliana Burris forced two five second calls with her tenacious ball pressure during the second half comeback.

Coffman goes for another OCC crown on Thursday at home against Marysville.
