Girls Field Hockey Wins 6 th Straight Game

After dropping their season opener, to defending state champion, Thomas Worthington 9-0, the Rocks Field Hockey team has been on a roll. They’ve accumulated 6 straight wins by defeating Hilliard 8-0, Walnut Hills 9-0, St Ursula Academy 3-0, Olentangy 3-1, Olentangy Liberty 2-1, and Lancaster 2-0. The Field Hockey squad has been led on offense by Kate Straka with 8 goals, Izzy Fry (5), Claire Frient (5) and Sydney Dues (3). Mary Garcia leads the team in assist with 6. On defense, Fay Mossman, Ava Westmeyer, Emma Rozanski, Maddy Fry, Claire Bigalow, Brookelyn Lombardo and goalie Mara O’Sullivan have shut-out 4 teams. The Rocks have also had solid play from 3 bench players Lanie McNeil, Caroline Palazzo, and Mamie Nicol. The 6-1 Rocks will try to extend their winning streak when they play their next game at home on Monday Sept 11 vs CSG.
