Saline Captures Lead Early To Defeat Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-0 loss to Saline on Tuesday. Saline scored on a double by Zach Schwartzenberger, a triple by Jacob Finkbeiner, and a single in the first inning. Saline captured the lead in the first inning. Zach Schwartzenberger doubled on a 3-0 count in the first inning, scoring one run. Saline scored five runs in the third inning. The big inning for Saline came thanks to a home run by Cole Daniels, a error, a single by Kellan Huang, and a single by Schwartzenberger. A single by Cal Haefke in the first inning was a positive for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. Sean O’Keefe earned the win for Saline. He tossed four innings, surrendering zero runs, two hits, striking out two, and walking one. Will Kranstuber took the loss for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. He threw two innings, surrendering six runs, and five hits. Blake Baldridge started the game for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. He threw one and one-third innings, allowing three runs, four hits, striking out one, and walking one. Canyon Caldwell and Haefke all had one hit to lead Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. Saline collected 12 hits. Daniels, Schwartzenberger, Jacob Finkbeiner, Huang, and Ethan Collick each collected multiple hits for Saline. Saline was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Ted Eppinga made the most plays with six.
