Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity Can’t Hold Up Against Hilliard Davidson Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity couldn’t keep up with Hilliard Davidson and fell 6-1 on Tuesday. Hilliard Davidson captured the lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Sam Monnin drove in one run when he singled. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Cal Haefke singled on a 1-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run. Hilliard Davidson took the lead for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Brett Kodger singled off of Marcus Ernst, driving in one run. Carson Curnutte earned the win for Hilliard Davidson. He went seven innings, giving up one run, six hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Ernst took the loss for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. He pitched six innings, giving up six runs, 11 hits, striking out six, and walking one. Haefke went 1-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with one run batted in. Hilliard Davidson collected 11 hits. Ben Wright and Christian Sweet each collected multiple hits for Hilliard Davidson.
