Game Recap

Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity couldn’t keep up with Charlotte and fell 8-1 on Thursday. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. In the bottom of the third inning, Charlotte tied things up at one. Charlotte scored one run when Shane LeMaster tripled with two outs in the third inning. Charlotte took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Justin Hinchy singled off of Cal Haefke, driving in one run and Ramon Koontz laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run. Charlotte scored four runs in the fifth inning. Charlotte’s big inning was driven by a home run by Kevin Cemway and a passed ball. Zane Saunders earned the win for Charlotte. He went six innings, allowing one run, three hits, and striking out seven. Haefke took the loss for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. He pitched four innings, allowing four runs, five hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Canyon Caldwell, Haefke, and Matt Ilcin each collected one hit to lead Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. Charlotte had eight hits in the game. Hinchy and Kyle Maehado each collected multiple hits for Charlotte.
