Haefke Throws Shutout As Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity Defeats Westland Cal Haefke didn’t allow a single run as Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity defeated Westland 7-0 on Wednesday. Haefke allowed just one hit and induced a groundout from Caleb Goff to end the game. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity grabbed an early lead. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity took the lead on a home run in the second inning. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity took an early lead in the second inning. With zero outs in the second inning Alex Werth drove in one run when he homered. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a double by Marcus Ernst and a single by Werth. One bright spot for Westland was a double by Garrett Lawson in the seventh inning. Cal Haefke earned the win for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. He pitched seven innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, striking out seven, and walking one. Braden Schoppert took the loss for Westland. He threw one and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs, three hits, and striking out two. Kyle Bowles started the game for Westland. He threw five and a third innings, allowing four runs, five hits, and walking one. Werth and Ernst each drove in two runs to lead Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. Lawson led Westland with one hit in three at bats.
