An early lead helped Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity defeat Lemon Bay 14-8 on Wednesday. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity scored on a single in the first inning, a single by Conor Sheridan in the first inning, and a stolen base in the first inning. Both offenses were strong at the plate as Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity collected 11 hits and Lemon Bay 12 Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity captured the lead in the first inning. Alex Werth singled on a 1-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity scored six runs in the fifth inning. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity scored on a single , a double by Cal Haefke, and a triple. Lemon Bay scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Lemon Bay came thanks to a double by Jacob Comer, a single by Warnner Rincones, and a passed ball. Blake Baldridge earned the win for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. He pitched five and a third innings, giving up seven runs, ten hits, and striking out four. Mike Matthews threw one and one-third innings, as three relievers helped Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity finish off the victory. Brandon Gielow took the loss for Lemon Bay. He tossed three and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs, five hits, and striking out seven. Marcus Ernst, Werth, Matt Ilcin, and Conor Sheridan each collected multiple hits for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. Sheridan, Ilcin, Werth, and Ernst all had two hits to lead Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. Rincones and Tyler Kreissler each collected multiple hits for Lemon Bay. Rincones went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Lemon Bay in hits.
