Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity Defeats Brunswick Despite Allowing 3-Run Inning Brunswick scored three runs in the second inning, but Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity still won 6-5 on Saturday. The big inning for Brunswick came thanks to a error and a single by Alex Menear. Brunswick captured the lead in the second inning. An error scored two runs for Brunswick. Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Ethan Hetzel doubled off of David Murach, driving in three runs and Derek Kutrubs uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run. Will Kranstuber earned the win for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. He tossed four innings, allowing five runs, five hits, and striking out four. George Kranstuber recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity. Murach took the loss for Brunswick. He threw three and a third innings, giving up six runs, and three hits. Trent Jester went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Dublin Coffman Shamrocks Varsity in hits. Brunswick collected seven hits. Mike Williams and Alex Menear each collected multiple hits for Brunswick. Williams led Brunswick with three hits in three at bats.
