Game Recap

Wow! The Rocks found themselves in a nail bitter of a game on Saturday night. The Rocks started the scoring on a pass from Nick Kennedy to Chris Aman for the power play goal. After the goal the action was back and forth for the rest of the period. The second period found the Celtics determined to win this game, although Grant Powell and the defense would not allow the Celtics the goal they so desperately needed. The second period ended with the Rocks clinging to 1-0 lead. In the third period the Celtics found that goal with just over 7 minutes left in the game, with the game eventually ending in a 1-1 tie. The game would be decided in sudden death overtime. The Rocks took charge of the overtime and almost ended the game within the first minute of overtime, but were denied by the Celtic goalie. With a minute and 45 seconds left in the overtime the Celtics took a tripping penalty to give the Rocks the man advantage. After a time out with 1:01 left in the overtime, the Rocks came out and won the offensive zone face-off. The puck was sent out to the point where Ryon Malas shot it in to the Celtic goalie, Alex Schepflin found himself in the middle of three Celtic players in front of the goal and was able to get his stick on the puck and send it to the back of the net for the Game Winner. On to the CBJ Cup Championship!
