Game Recap
Nick Kennedy started the Rocks off with a power play goal in the first period to give the Rocks a 1-0 lead. Luke Babner followed with another goal for a 2-0 lead. Then either the Rocks fell asleep or the Lions woke up and roared, the Lions scored a short handed goal in the first period. The first period ended with the Rocks leading 2-1, but the Rocks looked liked they lost their puppy. The second period started with the Lions scoring in first 14 seconds and following it up with another goal 24 seconds later to give the Lions a 3-2 advantage. After being shell shocked the Rocks preceded to take penalty after penalty for a total of nine minutes of the fifteen minute period they were down a man and sometimes two. The Rocks answered the challenge and killed off all the penalties, and then Alex Schepflin and Mat Riley went flying down the ice with tick tack passes to give Riley the goal to tie the game at 3 all. The second period ended tied at 3. The Rocks came out in the third period with a fury of goals, first started by Ryon Malas to give the Rocks the lead for good. Cam Fiorita got into the action to score his first of two goals on the night. Mat Riley added his second goal of the night on a power play. The Rocks finished the game and the Lions with a 7 to 3 victory.
