Game Recap

The District Semifinal was as advertised. The first period the Rocks and Celtics played a back and forth game with neither team able to take advantage on the scoreboard. The second period open up a bit, with Mat Riley sending a bullet from the point to find the back of the net and give the Rocks the early lead 1-0. Later in the period the Rocks found themselves down a man to give the Celtics a power play goal and tie it up at 1. Ryon Malas came right back with the answer and go ahead goal giving the Rocks the 2-1 lead. The second period ended with the Rocks up 2-1. The third period started with a Celtics penalty and a successful penalty kill by Jerome. Jerome was not to give up easy, a scramble in from of goaltender Grant Powell found a Celtics player jamming the puck in the net to tie the game again at 2. Once again as they have done all year the Rocks came right back with a goal by Cam Fiorita to give the Rocks the lead for good at 3-2. The final minute of play the Celtics pulled their goalie and Mat Riley was able to send the puck 3/4 of the ice into the empty net for a Rocks victory and final score of 4-2. The Rocks will play in the District Finals on Saturday March 5, 6:30 pm.
