BOYS LAX DEFEATS TOP TWO RANKED TEAMS IN N.C.

The Coffman boys traveled to Charlotte, N.C. to take on the top two teams in the state. First up on Monday was Weddington H.S., and Coffman found themselves down 3-0 after the first quarter and down 3-1 at the half. The team found their legs in the third quarter, outscoring Weddington 5-1 and taking a 6-4 lead. The teams added two goals a piece in the fourth and Coffman was able to start of the trip with an 8-6 win. The offense was led by NIck Harris, finding the back of the net 3 times. Cole Sundheimer added 2, with Evan James, Ian Thomas and Cam Andrews each tallying 1. Sean McCourt was strong in the nets, stopping 14 shots and the defense again played a solid game.

The Dublin Coffman boys ended their spring break trip with a win over second ranked Lake Norman High School on Tuesday night by a score of 10-4. The Rocks sprinted our to a first quarter 4-0 lead and never looked back. The defense shut out the high powered Lake Norman offense in the first half and the entire team out hustled their opponent, besting them in ground balls 27-11 for the game. Zack Kasun played an aggressive game on defense, creating 4 caused turnovers and collecting 4 ground balls. Evan James found the back of the net 4 times, with Nick Harris adding 3 goals, Will Hunter 2 and Peter Tyack 1. Sean McCourt was solid in the nets with 7 saves. The 5-0 Rocks play their next game against Hilliard Davidson on April 4. JV starts at 5:30 and varsity at 7:00. We hope to see you all at the game.
